A state-of-the-art machine with B-axis machining on both spindles and an additional axis
CITIZEN “swiss type” lathes allow the production of various parts with high complexity. To meet the current demands of the machining industry, CITIZEN has introduced a new concept of the L20 model with built-in LFV (Low Frequency Vibration) function, so that customers can optimize the manufacturing process using the included options to configure the machine necessary for their production needs.

Our bestselling L20 completely renovated
A machine synonymous with the history of Cincom has been redesigned for the new age with 3 models in modular design. Ranging from a 5-axis machine with excellent cost performance to a high-end machine equipped with B axis and a back spindle Y axis, you may select the machine according to the functions you require.

The machine concept offers unrivalled versatility – various gang tool posts, drilling holders for front and back machining with and without rotary tools are available from which the customer may select the types best suited for his requirements at hand.

Citizen-Cincom CNC swiss-type lathes are used to manufacture: medical instruments, electronics, firearms, tools, valves. Citizen lathes can CNC a wide range of materials, nickel-based alloys, inconel alloys, titanium, stainless steels, iron, copper, nylon, plastic, and others.
Removable guide bushing and 15,000 min-1 high speed spindle. Machining using a guide bush is a useful method for long and thin workpieces.

On the other hand, using an interchangeable guide bush with short workpieces leaves a long remnant bar, increasing material costs.

Citizen LFV Cutting Technology – Reduced Chip Sizes
Take productivity to the next level
With state-of-the-art processing technology
CITIZEN “swiss type” lathes allow the production of various highly complex parts. To meet the current demands of the machining industry, CITIZEN has introduced a new concept of the L20 lathe with integrated LFV (Low Frequency Vibration) function. Thus, customers can optimize the manufacturing process using the included options to configure the machine to their production needs.

The LFV function generates the phenomenon of “air-cut” (interrupted chipping) which causes the easy fragmentation of the chips and has the effect of decreasing the chipping forces. This contributes to longer tool life. As a result, interrupted chipping eliminates the problems associated with “chip pile-up” and the need for manual removal from the tool level. It also reduces the tendency to chip the tool tip, extends chip life, helps reduce thermal effects in the cutting zone, and can be an important factor in difficult-to-control processes such as deep drilling and even micro- processing fine surfaces.
Regarding vibration, the LFV process is activated by a G-code in the CNC program that allows an on-demand initiation anywhere in the cutting cycle.
These vibrations are controlled, are not permanent and do not influence the life of the machine.
Benefits
- Minimizes tool defects and damage caused by chips
- Keep processing costs down
- It greatly reduces the machining cycle due to chip removal
- Less monitoring of processing processes means more operations in mass production without human assistance
- Manual chip removal is required much less often
Materials for LFV processing
Through this Citizen technology, a wide range of materials can be cnc processed, at a high quality, nickel-based alloys, inconel alloys, titanium, stainless steels, iron, copper, nylon, plastic, and others.
